Microsoft has always focused to bring new features to Windows and make it a complete reflection of the exact requirement of any business. This time also Microsoft has come up with the most effective version of Windows, Windows 10. Although it’s been few years since its first launch but Microsoft has consistently upgraded various security features in it. These security updates are rolled via Windows update and at present, it is the best operating system which can efficiently help to protect data, devices and identity.
Today, the businesses in all parts of the world are severely affected by cyber-attacks. A network breach has become a common news and recently, some hackers have also stolen the data of Fortune 500 companies and gained access to their sale system. Few days back, there was news that one cybercrime organization stole 1.2 billion usernames and passwords. An unknown fear always remains while accessing the computers. In such time, Windows 10 has emerged as a strong hope to protect data, devices and identity.
Windows 10 is successfully addressing the present-day security threats with advanced technology and strengthening identity protection. Whether it is data loss, malware infection or any other issue faced by enterprises, Windows 10 is always ready for protection.
Identity Protection
The user credentials are protected by Windows 10 in case of any breach occurring in data center. The user is protected from theft when the devices are hacked and it makes the phishing attacks completely ineffective. Both the businesses and consumers are benefitted from this solution and users get enterprise-grade password’s convenience and the security. After enrolling, the device itself becomes 1 of the 2-factor authentication. The second factor is a biometric or pin. With Windows 10, any kind of attacks harmful for identity are protected.
Data Protection
Microsoft provide services like IRM (Information Rights Management) and Azure Rights Management which helps in protecting data when it moves from a device. In Windows 10, there is a solution named DLP (data loss prevention) which separates the personal and corporate data. This capability is built inside the platform and is integrated within the current user experience. An advanced solution to protect data is provided by Windows 10 and it is applicable to Desktop as well as mobile devices. It helps the organizations to decide which apps can access the corporate data.
Device Protection
With Windows 10, the organizations are given the power to lock down devices and make them resistant to malware and additional threat. Since, malware is usually installed on devices, so Windows 10 allows only the trusted apps to be installed on a device. This means apps which are signed via Microsoft signing services could only be run on devices. The organizations are given the flexibility to choose which apps can be trusted. The choice may include apps signed by themselves, ISVs signed special apps, Windows Store apps, or all the previously mentioned apps. The flexibility is also about devices, i.e. apps can be run on Windows desktop as well as Windows phone.
